If you’ve ever thought about having photos taken with your dog—but worried it might be total chaos—you’ll be pleased to know that today’s session with Chrys and Millie was the exact opposite.

It was calm, gentle, and full of quiet moments (with just a few well-earned treats for Millie in between).

Chrys is no stranger to making people look and feel beautiful—she’s a makeup artist—but today was all about her. And Millie, of course. We kept the styling simple, stuck to neutral tones, and let the connection between them shine through.

Thinking about booking your own dog photography session in Ossett? Here are some tips to help it go smoothly:

🦴 Bring treats (and maybe their favourite toy): Having something familiar on hand helps your dog feel relaxed. Plus it gives us a way to gently grab their attention mid-shoot.

👗 Choose outfits that work with your dog’s colouring: It sounds like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference visually. Chrys wore soft earthy tones that complimented Millie’s fur beautifully.

🪑 Keep it simple: You don’t need props, backdrops, or lots of poses. A calm space, a bit of patience, and some expert lighting is often all it takes.

🐾 Relax and go with the flow: Dogs don’t follow a shot list. We’ll capture natural, in-between moments that show your real bond and those are often the best bits.

If you’d love your own relaxed dog photography session in Ossett (either solo or with the whole family), I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a message to find out when the next shoot dates are available.
